NEW YORK, N.Y. –  Metro Networks, a division of Westwood One and the nation’s largest traffic reporting service, has announced its list of the worst traffic tie-ups in America for 2008. The list is compiled by the team of leading traffic experts at Metro Networks, which provides year-round traffic reports and information to more than 120 million Americans a day via 2,500+ local radio, TV and Internet affiliates.

“Thanksgiving is the most dangerous holiday for drivers, so it’s even more important to avoid traffic congestion when traveling,” says John Frawley, EVP of Broadcast Operations at Metro Networks. “The increase of drivers on the roads magnifies the demand for accurate, real-time traffic information while drivers are actually on the roads. Metro Networks meets that demand with state-of-the-art technology that tracks actual road speeds in real-time, points out unforeseen delays and suggests less congested alternative routes.”

To help drives navigate through the holidays safely, Metro Networks has compiled a list of the Top Ten Worst Holiday Traffic Tie-Ups in America and encourages drivers to tune into live local traffic reports around the country to minimize traffic woes.
